Welcome to SEN School at YIS,

One of Yusr International Schools’ most honored achievements was the opening of their Special Education Needs department in the academic year 2013/2014.

The SEN department provides individualized learning to our students with disabilities to meet their needs. We also integrate students with learning disabilities, autism and other special needs into general education classrooms to support their ability to cope in an engaging learning environment, and to provide them with suitable opportunities to improve self-esteem and social behaviors.

The SEN Department functions under the supervision of qualified staff with a vast amount of experience in their fields to enhance the student’s performance academically, socially and behaviorally in a school setting. The specialists direct their efforts towards supporting and guiding the students with special needs by offering the necessary individual educational and learning services. Our SEN program is set and applied on a skills and needs basis and documented on an Individual Education Plan.

Our program and facilities are student focused, adaptable and variable to the distinct needs of our students. The approach we adopt at Yusr raises awareness of the importance of special educational needs, and strives to diminish elements that form barriers towards students’ involvement with their learning and personal development. Our SEN department broadens prospects for all children to learn, play, acquire skills and understand the sentiment of belonging, in order to develop regardless of any social, physical and mental barriers.

The SEN Department at Yusr symbolizes shifting attitudes, strategies and teaching approaches to meet the educational needs of all of our learners by offering the needed educational and learning services such as:

  1. Support classes for learning disabilities
  2. Speech and language sessions
  3. Behavior management sessions using the strategies of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  4. Academic support by the classroom teacher
  5. Classroom integration for our SEN students

To provide leading special education services to support educational and social integration for students with special needs through offering inclusion programs, applied in universal standards and qualities, where the student receives special services in general education classrooms according to his/her abilities and needs
